Hi,
i'm a London based director looking for a creative producer (at the same level of experience as me) to collaborate with in developing a first feature, possibly another short but certainly looking to take the next step. This is isn't a paid position (though i'd happily cover expenses for a provisional meet up).
Ive finished my first dramatic short “One Last Dance”, which is doing festival rounds this Autumn (so far it's played at LA-shorts & Rhode Island - where it got a fantastic reception). The film is an understated drama with touches of magical realism starring the Emmy winner and all round prolific actor Jonathan Pryce its scored by Paul Hartnoll and was largely crewed by industry professionals, its all about an old mans reluctant visit to his grandson’s dance group giving him an unexpected chance to reconnect with his past and reignite his passion for life. Financed by crowdfunding and private investment we shot on 35mm - hopefully its a solid statement of intent both technically and narratively, certainly UK arthouse indie, I've got a solid body of work preceding this in the arts and have worked in commercials and music video's a great deal over the years. My heart is in features - always was.
Having now got this far and created a 15 min short thats of a high enough standard to use a calling card to move on, I'm looking for someone who wants to go for it with me. I'm really very collaborative & fully appreciate that a producer is a NOT cash machine but the other half of the dynamic that gets a project started - its not a relationship i take lightly. Ive got a couple of treatments that i want to try and get script funding for (both created by experienced screen writers from ideas by me). I'm also very open to suggestion, working on projects not generated by myself.
Im looking for a well organised strategic thinker who is creatively driven, with a realistic outlook and experience that matches my own in terms of being able to ball park budgets and break ideas down to component parts as well as make educated calls on narrative structure and visual delivery. I want to apply for creative England's emerging talent funding in December with a good pitch. It would be great if you have funded and made a high end short (or low budget feature) as this would give us common ground for an initial dialogue, but its not essential.
Below is a link to some shorts including "One Last Dance" (which requires a password, so if you get this far - get in touch and ill mail it over to you).

This next link is less relevant as it covers some of my 'mainstream' commercial work - of all different kinds (not the reason for this post), it may however belay any worries you may have about my level of experience.
