9 years, 4 months ago - Julianne Rooney
Hello everyone! I am looking for a location to be used in kind for a film shoot between 25-28 March - we can offer a small fee.
Details: family home with pale interior, Northern England style, as close to London as possible. Please feel free to message with questions. x

You may be able to convince someone in airbnb to let you film at their place - 4 days is a long time to not be able to enjoy your own home for any occupied house! Filming necessitates continuity, so rooms have to be effectively locked off overnight. Homeowner occupiers will want to watch their own TV, have a shower after work, or make a cup of tea, all of which are a problem for filming. You might need to hotel people, and that adds up.
Alternatively, get the exteriors in a day somewhere, and dress some studio/space to look enough like your interiors. I once shot a short with several distinct locations all in some disused space at a double glazing factory over a weekend, some Ingenuous dressing, doubling rooms up with alternate angles, etc. It'll give you control of the set, of the light, parking is usually easier as is power, people aren't risking their intimate home with a bunch of uncaring hoodlums (that's how film crews come across after the walls are scratched, mud walked into carpets, flowerbeds trampled, neighbours annoyed, etc). It also means not having to pay off savvy neighbours who loudly play music and mow lawns knowing you'll have to pay them to shut up...

"Northern England style, as close to London as possible" - Oh the irony!
