Film/(Reel) Editing

hi shooters
i need some advice on editing or Cutting on Film using a splicer and turn table set up , as i will be using 16mm film stock, shall i attemp the manual technique or find some one to transfer it digitally,

all/any suggestions welcome

Hi Steve, before you start splicing I would strongly recommend that you go for a digital version. A cut may only effect a couple of frames, but it is permanent. Save your footage first. This gives you the added advantage of being able to try out edits on the digital copy - ALWAYS keep one master copy untouched!!! It will give you more freedom to explore the effect of different, and perhaps more daring, cuts and also make it much easier to try out fades and overlays.
