INDEXGaining more set experience with directors

I'm keen to work with others to gain more set experience in different environments but I'm unable to work for free. I have been applying for some expenses and low paid work on here (unsuccessfully so far) and I've been trying to find places on google. But there's so many agencies etc out there it's difficult to know who to trust etc.
Longer term I am looking to shoot my own films. I have shot a music video, and have 2 more planned for spring, but I want to get experience in different genres. I envisage my own short films to be hi impact visually but with strong emotion - meaning not all after effects etc, real, raw emotion is what I have in my ideas book so far. But as I say, I want to get paid experience in as many as possible.
Where to turn? Who are the better employment agencies? And any other useful advice please guys.

In honesty, agencies won't be a lot of help for paid runner work. The reality is that more people want paid runner work than there are jobs, which is why you're running up against problems. I'd suggest you just keep applying through this and similar sites, productionbase, filmandTVpro, etc.
