1 year, 11 months ago - Sue Carpenter
Calling emerging young women filmmakers: our first in-person GlobalGirl Media Film Festival, run by the UK charity GlobalGirl Media UK, will be held at the Cinema Museum in London on 17 Sept, plus for international viewers, online 17 - 23 Sept.
The festival celebrates and showcases short films by young woman and non-binary filmmakers from around the world. Our in-person day is particularly aimed at young women in film and media – to inspire, educate, enthuse and spark connections and collaborations.
With submissions from 30+ countries, our programme features over 50 shorts, workshops, talks, and networking events hosted by industry professionals – including Channel 4 News presenter Ayshah Tull – and an awards ceremony, hosted by leading entertainment presenter Elle Osili-Wood. The day will be live-streamed to our website.
GGMFF's goals are to:
* provide a platform to amplify diverse creative voices
* nurture community, offering a unique space to connect with peers
* promote women and non-binary people in media and film, both behind and in front of the camera, to achieve more equal representation in the industry
* award excellence for the Best UK Film, Best International Film, Best Director, Best Documentary, and Best Fiction Film
