INDEXHas anyone done the VR weekend course at Raindance?

I was thinking of taking this course in December: https://www.raindance.org/courses/hands-on-vr/
Has anyone else taken it? Is it worth the money?
Thanks,
Luke

Buy a low end 360 VR camera start playing.
Learn by doing.
No one really knows how to shoot this stuff yet, as you will see once you start watching a lot of it.

I have been playing with a Gear 360. Have just ordered a Vuze and Gimbal. Experiments will continue :-)
My very first Black Friday purchase - the Vuze was 250 quid off, so natch, spent the saving on a gimbal. Sucker for toys, but my experience with the Gear 360 suggests that moving cameras are tricky at best, and my reading suggests that once you add steroscopic to the mix, hand held just doesn't cut it, not without stabilization. That's my excuse anyway :-)

Would you recommend the Gear 360 as a good camera to start with? I looked up some gimbal tests on YouTube and even the cheaper ones looked really smooth--very encouraging!
What kind of films are you making? I'm a writer so I was thinking of getting into VR to try something new. Film and TV stories are lots of fun but the lure of unknown is pretty enticing ;)

To start, any cheap 360, because you need to learn how to shoot. Well, not so much shoot, as learn how the scene will look.
You need a couple actor volunteers to try stuff - and remember, if you are in the room, you are in the picture.
As to writing for it, I'm thinking mainly small spaces. A caving drama is burbling away nicely.
