Hi everyone,
Has anyone filmed in Mexico?
Filmed in Iceland last year without carnet which wasn't a problem.
Kit this time will be minimal, just not sure if going there without carnet is a good idea.
And any recommendations on reliable hire companies would be great.
thanks.

Hi Franz,
Thanks for the reply :)
I've had confirmation that we won't be needing Carnet as it's a really small shoot :)

Just received this from a dear friend (costume designer) in Mexico:
Dear Franz,
Honestly, I'm not familiarized with the litigation area you asked me, but I got this information.
I think He must filming here with a carnet, becuase is more secure it he makes it legally and to protect his merchandise during the film. A carnet is known as merchandise passport. It's better he come here with a carnet.
Mexican customs allows carnets and their goods to remanin in Mexico for up to 6 months. Approval for Mexican customs may take 2 or 3 days. Carnet submit the electronic registration at www.carnetatamexico.com.mx
I hope my advice can help you.
Hope to hear from you.
Much love Patricia,
