Help build a doc festival venue (Ireland)...

9 years ago - Reality Check

Guth Gafa International Documentary festival in Meath need help turning an airplane hanger into a cinema in the next week. The carrier held planes from the Mad Max film, so it has some movie history. can anyone help? Here's their message:
"I had one of those light bulb moments - I thought, I'll ask all the people we know in the feature film industry. They have the skills we need, they know how to build sets, they know how to light spaces.
But here's a different challenge - help us actually 'build' a cinema in this magical space - be a part of creating the magic of cinema. Almost all of you must know some very talented people out there with big hearts and maybe a few days free next week. If we can find a set designer, a carpenter, an electrician and maybe even a lighting designer, and someone to donate (or lend us) a LOT of heavy black drapes to cover the walls, maybe even the metal barrel roof to soundproof it, then we can do this.

We've got just over a week to make this happen, so please, please, please try and help - send me an email to david@guthgafa.com or give me a call on 086 8118112. Or even forward this newsletter to people you know who might be able to help.

And if you're in production, away on holiday, or just don't have the time, but you still want to help, then please think about makiing a donation, through our PayPal account donations@guthgafa.com or support us through our Kickstarter campaign for our Virtual Reality Cinema at Guth Gafa VRoom (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1232729255/the-guth-gafa-vrroom-a-pop-up-virtual-reality-cine).

Thanks for helping us make our 10th Birthday a special one."
