INDEXHotel Location needed for short film
2 years, 9 months ago - Jonathan Brooks
Hi there,
Im looking for a 4 or 5 star type hotel room to shoot a scene for a self funded short film.
1 day shoot , London based.
Does anyone have any experience with London hotels who might be amenable to this type of thing?
Or any tips?
Thank you,
Jonathan.

The Portobello Hotel is film friendly. Or at least they were last time I spoke to them on the matter, which was some years back. https://www.portobellohotel.com/
I would imagine most hotels would permit filming in their rooms so long as it didn't disturb other guests.

If you're upfront with the hotel and take a room at the end of a corridor and don't cause problems, many will welcome you. However you'll only usually get to shoot in the room/a bar you book out as opposed to the lobby/public areas. Some people go to hotels for privacy and not always with people they're married to... film cameras in the reception can damage business massively!
