How can I be a Production Assistant / Runner on any shorts / TV shows being filmed around Croydon?

Hi,
I'm guessing the best way to break into filmmaking is through working on local short films, feature film & TV productions made around my home town of Croydon, although I'm willing to travel further. I see being a Production Assistant or Runner as my way in.

Where can I post my interest or do I have to just keep looking on the Collaboration page?
