How do you find out of any movies or tv shows been shot in your area

As I said Im very new to the movie making seen and Im aiming to get to know all i can about film making Im just wondering can anyone tell me how to find out if there's movies or tv shows been shot in the Newcastle area?..

Local council will have a film marketing dept. But you mean The Toon, more than you can shake a stick at.
