how is it best to find producers for period or contemporary dramas to help ease the transition from script /extensive treatments?

have 2 projects in development - WW2 (see recent post) currently researching more - looking for likeminded producers who would back a DGGB / BKSTS member particularly locations / equipment costs given that many of the HD systems like red or Alexa are very expensive to hire for possibly 3 weeks or less for scripts 108 - 120pages long I find it just strange how hard they are to find.

any are welcome to get in contact (Screen007682@yahoo.co.uk)

If those cameras are too expensive have you considered scaling back the production? A budget is a balancing act between the elements - no point paying £000's for camera kits if you're not paying for a competent crew to use them or for reasonable catering for the crew, etc. Also, no point getting a decent location without a decent lighting package, gaffer, sparks, gen op, DoP etc to make it look good.
