How to Budget for a Feature Film

8 years, 1 month ago - Adelle Filmmaker

Someone has offered to finance my feature film but needs to see a budget before releasing the funds.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a feature film budget template.

Hiya,

Well congratulations! That's a result!

Usually you'd hire a line producer to budget a film for you as there are all kinds of "gotcha's" that can catch you out - for instance having to pay fringes (NI, holiday pay) and who you must pay on payroll and who can be self-employed with Lorimer letter, who can be self-employed without one, etc. That said, if you've found someone who'll bankroll a feature without knowing how much they're in for, wow!

Anyway here's an empty Fox format budget template which you may find handy? It'll give you an idea of budget headings at least (not all will apply!), and you'll usually have multiple lines for a heading
