INDEXHOW TO GET FUNDING FOR FULL FEATURE LENGTH ACTION MOVIE IN LONDON?
8 years, 9 months ago - David Cheung
Hi guys, just wanted to find out from those who have experience in getting feature film funding, so right now I have my feature film on a crowdfunding platform indiegogo as we have not secured an immediate investor yet but we are also in meetings with film producers for possible investment.
We have some famous actors on board and a international cast.
We are looking at a budget of £500,000 for a full feature length movie.
Can anyone shed a light on getting investment for this amazing project?

If you have famous actors who have given letters of interest, find a sales agent and ask them for an estimate, then use that to convince people to lend you money. Who are the actors? If you've got George Clooney's letter of interest, we could have you fully funded by lunchtime, for instance.

Hi David, in that case, go to markets where they're big news - you'll get more interest for Armeenha Khan in India than London would be my guess, or look to HK backers for Yennis Cheung. Or at least people from those regions who are more familiar with their attraction than a London sales agent would be. Wayne Gordon may get you some numbers from a Western one. Often an international cast comes because of co-productions, if you want Canal+ money it comes with Vincent Cassel for instance, so maybe looking for co-producers in those territories can help? Problem is, I've no idea how viable any of that is at half a million quid budget level!
