Write letters showing interest and start posting them out. Middle to large sized companies often your best bet as small ones have such irregular work you may not have anything to do. For TV, contact every production company who's local and ask nicely. There are also a few post production facilities left in Soho, so ask them as well.

When you compose your letter, assume they'll receive a few hundred others, so be clear about why you'll value the experience more than the next person. A lot of people think film/TV/music is glamorous, the reality is that it's ugly, slow, hard work so show interest in other departments than just wanting to hang out on set. Ask about doing a day each with several areas of the business, even accounting and less glamorous ones. If I received a letter from someone who had clearly read up about how the industry works, done a bit of research about my company (namedrop some of their shows/artists/locations), and wanted to experience the different areas of it I'd take it more seriously than a generic 'Dear x I think TV is fab can I meet one direction' ones.
