I have a made a short documentary film on my uncle, an unknown African artist. The film is called 'The Roving Eclectic'. My aim is to get some connections in the art world to get him representation to promote his wonderful work. Hold some exhibitions and profile him in the right places.

Does anyone know the best way to go about this? Or have contacts in the art world that can help?

Thank you!

Thanks for your responses.

Here is some more information on my Uncle in the article below.

Let me know how you suggest he can be promoted and his artwork can be directed to the right platforms to be showcased.

Thanks in advance

THE COLOUR OF PEACE

Paapa Nketsiah trained as an artist at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1970s. In addition to contributing significantly to the development of the art scene in Ghana, he worked as a Public Servant for 20 years lending his artistic and communication talents to promoting democracy, civic education and peaceful elections in Ghana.

Paapa’s art career, which spans the late 1970s till now, has involved participation in one-man and joint exhibitions in Ghana, Nigeria, France and Germany. He has been widely collected, with works in the USA, France, Israel, Nigeria and Ghana.

The quality of his compositions and contributions to popularizing art in Ghana has been recognized in both Ghana and abroad.

His works have been collected in some museums in France and has also been listed as an African artist by the Smithsonian institute in the USA.

This is his first exhibition in the Gambia. In selecting an appropriate theme for this exhibition, he chose “THE COLOUR OF PEACE”. He thinks that peace is essential for any positive human activity.

With his experience in the public service in the last 20 years, Paapa thinks that in Africa, one way of ensuring a stable democracy is for our leaders to ensure that the basic necessities of life are guaranteed to every citizen.

Currently on Facebook, is a documentary “Roving Eclectic” produced by his nephew who is a film maker.

His greater desire remains to inspire African children to dream of beauty.
