INDEXI have a short film script that I think would work well as a music video. Any advice on how to connect with an artist/band to pitch the idea to?

Pretty much says it all in the title. I have shared the concept with some friends in the industry and they have all, without any prompting, said the same thing. So I want to share the idea with an artist or band and see if we can work together. But aside from pitching blind I don't know where to start on connecting with the right kind of people.
Can anyone advise me?
Many thanks,
Simon

Maybe find some production companies that produce music videos and pitch it to them.
Have script and storyboards ready, so they feel it's something they can green light rather than it being an idea that needs development.
I imagine they would mainly consider you based on your showreel though they would want proof that you can deliver as a director.

Such a tough one - a pop promo music video needs to fit the song, and of course your film may or may not require big money to make. Basically, as Kristopher says, storyboard it in a way that you can cut it maybe 50/50 with the band performing footage. For a band to spend money, they want to see themselves.
Some labels like Ministry of Sound will have a greater need for narrative promos than others, since they release a lot of studio/mix work, fwiw. Look at some of their past narrative vids like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMLCrzy9TEs - around this period they used to like glamour and humour for their releases so flicking through their catalogue they have/had a "type" (Zombie Nation, I See Girls, Satisfaction...).
