Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the community so thought I'd share something to get involved, here's a summary video of what I learn submitting for over 2 years to Film Festivals.

Hope it's interesting/helpful and looking forward to speaking to more of the SP work force!

Haha, true. Though sounds like quite a bit of effort. Maybe in 2022....

Nice video... Sounds like you're doing well, even with that dreaded 'creative self-doubt' :) Keep going!

Hi Lexy, I just watched your video. Really enjoyed it, not only was it informative but you have a really engaging presentation style. If you ever want to collaborate with a London based cinematographer and AVID editor let me know :-)

Hi Lexy, thanks for this. I've been debating the same question myself, but from a screenwriters perspective. The cost of competing racks up fast but at last I've just got my first 'Finalist' position.
Feedback from another festival, for women screenwriters includes free feedback, said I was a "Talented and creative screenwriter." The $35 entry fee was worth it enough with the feedback but to be commended when no teacher on either of my writing degrees was ever so forthcoming with their comments, well, I am elated. It's changed everything. Now I will definitely not give up!
Thanks!
Fiona

Haha, I know right. How hard for a 'Nice job'-- but then I guess writing is all about perspective so maybe these guys are more on your wavelength.
What was the script comp? Contemplating sending some stuff over but not sure which are worth it...? :)

Thanks for sharing! I'm currently in the process of festival submissions so can relate to some of your findings.
Budget is key as is knowing/finding your audience. One thing I've noticed recently is festivals being more proactive and sending chain emails asking you to submit (with a discount code!) to them.
I spend a lot of time deleting these from my inbox.
