I want to shoot a short film but I'm struggling to find a location?

Would it be really cheeky to shoot in an air bnb (and not tell the host)?

If you advise against it, how do I go about finding a good location without spending the majority of my budget on it? Any advice would be much appreciated!

UPDATE: Thank you so much for all the answers, you've all talked me out of filming without permission XD I've decided to just wait a little longer to increase my funds and hopefully I'll find something. And thank you for the Scouty recommendation that was a good shout! :)

Lol you could definitely shoot in a air bnb, but you must ask permission from the landlord. Make sure you do this before you book.
I have filmed in a air bnb but I have been the location/ apartment a few times before so he was comfortable in me doing this.

I would recommend an app/website called Scouty - you can rent all sorts of locations on their site and they are purposely welcome video/photo shoots

I hope this helps

I've filmed in an air bnb a few times but I always ask them for filming permission in advance before booking. Some will be fine, some won't, some will want more money. Best to always ask though

Yes I shot in a Airbnb with permission of the host. She was quite happy, didn’t have to change the beds!

Tell the host you want to shoot, and that if they'd like to be there, that's fine.

You should also get the owner to sign a release saying that permission was given.
