Dear Shooters,

Could you please take a moment to watch and give me some feedback on my Video Reel?

All the camera work, sound and editing are done by me and I would love to hear what I could improve on it.

Kindest Regards

Impressive. Good work and I might suggest breaking it into segments (i.e. Corporate, Narrative, Cultural, Industrial, etc.,) so that it provided context for what you are showcasing. I hope this helps..

Initially I was not keen on the cuts between shots as they did not match the beat of the music. The transitions towards the end of the film where were creative and I liked the mix with the children singing and at the fade of the soundtrack. Well done all round though

The music is pleasantly driving forward, but I would have liked to hear what the dancers were moving to. What you are trying to do with the push transitions works, but there are too many of them, and it begins to distract and make me dizzy. Most of the other cuts work really well, but again it would be good to hear a little more of the children at the end. The framing and colour are great, good shots. Its a good piece of work, and shows you have talent. A bit long for an ad for Starbucks tho :-)
Well done.

I agree with the above. You don’t need much of the content and if you’re using such intense music, maybe add more slow motion or possibly change the music to make it more intimate rather than distracting. Hope this helps.

Hi all,

sorry for my slow response, but I have been a lot busier recently!

Dear Art, I agree 100%, I was thinking that it needs more context and I will implement this with the 1st opportunity alongside some other changes! Thank you, it helps a lot.

Dear Mike, I will take this into account, it certainly needs lesser cuts and some rearrangement to reflect the pace of the music track. Thank you

Dear Yen, I was thinking to bring in some of the original drums and music but I came across 2 issues. The first one is that the track I used is a royalty-free track but the creator doesn't allow mixing! The latter is that when I am mixing the second sound sources, they don't fit really well (it's not clean)! Regarding the cuts and transitions, I will remove a few to make it smoother and so it won't distract or overwhelm the viewer (I agree 100%). Thank you for your nice comments, I highly appreciate them.
And yes, unfortunately, I can't get away with no Starbucks in it since all of this work was for Starbucks :)
Thanks again.

Dear Dean, I believe I will go for fewer cuts and this will improve massively the pace and it will make it smooth for the eye!
Thank you, it helps a lot.

I appreciate all of your feedback, you are all great!
Thank you
Vasily
