ASK & DISCUSS
INDEXI'm looking for filmmakers to start a Youtube channel with multiple projects.

Hey,
I'm a writer and director living in London.
I've recently graduated from university and I'm looking to create a small and reliable production team.
My goal is to begin with is to create a Youtube channel which we make content for; comedy sketches, vignettes, genre pieces, podcast-type discussions of Film and TV.
First major thing I would like to mention upfront: the type of content I'm looking to make is not for the easily offended, people who bring politics into everything, and those who aren't okay with dark humour and adult topics.
Secondly, I don't have money to spend on equipment and locations, so this will be a very low-budget endeavor with the aim of growing over time.
With this said I'll go into detail for what I'm looking for:
1) Myself as Head Writer and Director. I have directed two (small time) award winning short films; "Blind" (BFI Future Film Festival, by Joe Cornish) and "The Demon and the Child" (Mike Newell Prize for Best Directing, by Mike Newell). I am very confident in my ability to write (and finish) screenplays, as well as directing my creative vision to cast and crew. It's where I work best and have the most enthusiasm for.

2) I'm looking for a Jack-Of-All-Trades Editor, Director of Photography, and Sound Recordist. Whilst I love filmmaking my weak points are the technical aspects. Ideally I'm looking for a DOP with their own equipment, but honestly at this early stage a lot can be said for good Iphone footage, good mic sound, and good editing / grading.
3) A Producer; here I am in need of someone who has the smarts (and patience) for the paperwork, but also a creative who can bring their enthusiasm into championing the projects. To be the third leg of this creative tripod.
I want to also make it clear I am not nor will ever ask you to put your own money into these projects, I'm intending this to be a true collaboration with the hope it can become something which becomes lucrative over time. Upfront contracts will be written up so we know where we stand before we start.
Content for the projects will ideally be done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, so travel around London is essential to this role.

Hi Charlie,
If you’re looking for people to collaborate with, the most effective way of reaching other members is to list your project in the Production part of the site. You can do this by clicking on the navigation ‘Production’ > ‘Get People’ (https://shootingpeople.org/production/people).
Once you’ve completed your post, the project will be available to view on the site in the Production directory and will be published in the bulletins.
Good luck with it.
Helen

Hi Charlie,
As an experienced screen director myself who has now written a variety of screenplays for short films, hoping to find funding to produce them, I don't think I can help you. However, it may be of interest to you that, after I wondered about applying for a local television licence for a rural coastal area, I had the idea to start a YouTube local television sevice, perhaps collaborating with a university, for supervised students to become programme creators and makers, using the facilities of a university media department. To discuss further - please contact Nick @ Shooting Match Ltd. : - E-Mail Nicholas.Prosser@gmail.com .
