INDEXIs Directors UK worth it?

Hi,
I'm thinking about joining Directors UK, as I've heard good things via word of mouth, but the website is vague about what they actually provide. I would be thinking about an associate membership (as someone starting out in their career).
They say they provide workshops, screenings, events etc... but its not specific and is this at an extra cost to the £60 or £120 a year you pay.

Thanks very much,
Gulliver

Cath,
Thanks very much for the reply. Can I ask how frequent these events are and what they commonly consist of?
I also heard that with your membership you have access to a room at the Directors UK office, to use between meetings or as a work space?

Hi Gulliver,
Graeme here from Directors UK. We host events three or four times a month, which range from big screenings with director Q&As (we have Alpha Papa next week), to masterclasses on subjects such as self-shooting. There's also funding workshops, Meet the Commissioners, CV clinics and plenty more besides.
As for the members' space, we actually have two, although one is not quite yet complete. They're available for members to use in office hours, but can be hired at a very reasonable rate for screenings etc after 5:30.
Any other questions do let me know, or get in touch with our membership officer Rosie at membership@directors.uk.com.
Cheers,
Graeme

Gulliver hi,
The workshops, events and screenings DUK put on are completely free to members, so no extra cost. And they are excellent. I should qualify this by adding that I am also on the board of DUK. But I do say completely from the heart - they are an excellent org. They also work very hard on lobbying to get Directors better paid and better recognised for the work they do across the UK - both in broadcast and in film.
