INDEXIs it better to show a fragment of a film or the full rough cut if you're having a fun raiser and looking to raise finishing funds

Been working on film for long time have a pretty decent rough cut but not sure whether one is show the whole thing at the fundraiser or the 10 minute segment for show the rough cut then people could pay just to see the rough cut and that would be some money but I don't want to give away the film if it's not looking the way it will look when it's fine tuned. Thank you for your opinions

I would definitely just show a teaser to encourage people to invest. "If you want to see the rest you'll have to help us finish it!" is a great way to get people to open up their wallets. Good luck with it!

Totally agree with Lucy - we had a near 2 min teaser-trailer produced and from it got 3 Executive Producers investing up to £10K. Do not what ever you do show the whole film. Good luck with everything!

Who is your audience? I'd def go for trailer, done to best possible quality. Less is more. Cut the trailer as if it was going into cinemas. You want your audience to want to see the movie, just like if it was a cinema trailer. I suspect 10 mins is too long. 2mins might be better.
If some of investors have technical knowledge and their money contingent on them believing that you can handle it, cover that in the presentation part of the show. E.g. "here's how we did the flying scene that you saw part of in the trailer" - green screen with actor, then adding the layers until WOW.
Have you got any known cast? If you have, arrange your show around whatever date they can manage to be there to support you and express their confidence in the movie.
