INDEXIs there a market for small to medium high quality prosthetics at lower prices to fit with the independent film market ?

Starting a small fx company based in the UK and was wondering if it was worth developing amounts our other products , a catalog of quality prosthetics out of different mediums that are more affordable to the independent market ?
would it be worth putting the many personal hours in creating these products or would you advise just sticking to the stand costs of prosthetics making ?

It's a free market, thank goodness, so if you want to explore a lower cost sector, go ahead and give it a go!
FYI I will need some prosthetics for a low budget feature around springtime, so would be interested to know what the difference in materials would be and how it'd affect things?

Thanks for the advice , and I guess you won't know if you don't try
I can mail you some test pictures in a few days of the lower budget ones we are testing with a gelatine that we have made so far :)
If you just send me an email to spectrumfxstudio@gmail.com

Hi Kirsty, I'm a makeup artist and I've mainly been working on low budget shorts. I've had to make do with cheap alternatives that don't look as good as they could. I think there is definitely a gap in the market for more affordable prosthetics. I hope that's helpful!

A strong catalogue of products/effects with clear pricing would be good for any size production. I would first base your prices on material costs and your time.
Everyone making an independent film is out for a bargain. Even with low prices people will still ask for 50% off because 'we're working on a really tight budget but we're really passionate about the project'.
