Is there something like Shooting People in Los Angeles?

Hello Shooters,

I am tentatively planning a low budget feature project and would like to shoot some scenes in LA. I would be interested in connecting with producer types and filmmakers in California, potentially to hire for production roles. Can anyone recommend any good forums to connect with filmmakers that side of the pond? Thanks
