Leica M Mount Photo Lenses for A7s or FS5

5 years ago - Denis Dobrovoda

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the use of Leica photographic lenses in low budget filmmaking setups. I am currently working on a documentary for which I have been hiring A7sII or FS5/7 sets with camera + some lenses. However, I have two really nice photo lenses I have been using with my Leica M7 - a 50mm Summicron and a 35mm Voigtlander Nokton 2. I have been thinking of exploring the option of using these lenses with the aforementioned Sony cameras - but I haven't been able to find anyone online who has done it or any recommendations - so I wonder whether for some reason it wouldn't be considered a good idea? It seems like it isn't really something that's done commonly - and I wonder why as the Leica M-Mounts are obviously often beautiful lenses.

Thank you for any advice!

sounds like you need a close focus adapter for M to E mount. you'll get great results with one of those.
