INDEXlocation ideas for a reception
6 years, 1 month ago - Jayne Slater
Hi,
I am currently scouting out potential locations that I could make into a therapy clinics reception room. To be accurate to how they look, I need somewhere with about 10 chairs and a long high counter that hides the computer screen from patients. The room would be quite small, probably the size of a small living room. I've already looked into vet and dentist clinics, as well as looked at actual therapy clinics (but obviously with it being quite a private place, they may not be so welcome for people to film on the premises).
I just wondered if any had any other ideas of a place that could fit the breif? schools, doctors practition etc wouldn't be suitable due to the fact they're quite large spaces.
Thanks

HI Jayne,
Before I became an actress I was a therapist and used to own a centre - so I know this world well. Where are you based? There is a stunning one in a country house near me in Bristol, it does depend on the genre , its pale blue and white from memory , and its very peaceful and not a busy practice so likely ideal for filming. If it's too unconventional it would be easy to set one up in another room as therapy centres have empty rooms for workshops that often take about 10 chairs. I can also think of another workshop space with a wooden floor and door from outside, its an empty room both with parking outside. I'd be happy to ask either of the owners for you. I am not sure how I can send you a picture through here when I find the details, but any good location wise so far? Amberli
