I am producing a 4 minutes film for a University project.
We are looking to film from the 5th of November to the 25th of November.
Only need 3 shots inside/outside the Café.

Whenever I've asked shops or cafes etc for similar, they've mostly been keen to help, even with no obvious benefit to them. People are mostly nice! And people like the idea of film. They might even want to be in it.

So go to a couple of cafes that meet your needs (make sure they will be big enough). Ask the manager/owner if you can use it
when they close (evening or Sunday?). Be charming. Be real about what you need, how many people and how much kit etc. Parking? Keep it as minimal as possible. But the shoot will always take longer than you plan (think about continuity if you lose light outside. Bend over backwards to meet their needs regarding security, not damaging anything etc. Buy your food from them if you can. Offer prominent publicity / product placement - don't over-egg this, but it might be handy if they cater for local students. Offer dvd's they can give away.

Good luck!

Hi Theodora. I have found Bohemia in North Finchley very obliging. I filmed a period dance short there and found the venue to be ideal (low ceilings downstairs) but we still managed to Dolly and Jib. Regards Howard

Everything around City is closed on a Sunday, so you might get traction there
