Hello Shooters
We are trying to find a wood in London that is not going to cost for a permit as our budget is limited. Further we are looking for a house not too modern that we can film in that has Bedroom, Kitchen, Attic. Any suggestions please. Thank youLocations

Hi Lauren,
Depending on the type of woods you need; how quickly and discreetly you shoot I'd suggest finding somewhere close to your main shooting location or base. We shot a woods scene for my most recent short in Nunhead cemetery and Peckham Rye Park in South East London. Though we did think about applying for permits, time and financial constraints meant we decided it was easier to go guerilla. I think as long as your crew isn't too big and you don't attract too much attention you should be able to get away with it. Make sure you do a good recce though.
Best of luck
Trevor

Many thanks Trevor.
We were willing to pay a couple of hundred pounds but despite telling parks we are a budget small crew they come up with astronomical charges. Will check out Peckham Rye Park.
Kind regards
Lauren

Hi Lauren,
Hmm. It might depend if you can shoot externals of the house, but do the internals at another location.
The only thing that comes to mind is in SE London, by Ravensbourne Station. (Might be called Beckenham Woods?) I've filmed in the woods there without problem. If you look on Google, there's a house in the woods, sort of bottom South. I'm sure my friend used to live there, or maybe it was another wood, but he basically said he was the gatekeeper and was just house-sitting. I think this applies to a lot of woods around London.
Worth approaching them. Worst case you can get some external shots and shoot Int somewhere else.

Thanks Paul
I will take a look at that location. It may be worth as you state filming outside of house and shooting internal elsewhere.
Many thanks for your help.

Hi my name is Iraj Emami an Iranian/British actor and filmmaker and artist. There is an old wood near my house, which should be perfect for your needs. Few minutes of Sudbury Town tube station.

Hey Lauren,
I can suggest Abbey Wood in southeast London. Enormous space and very quiet. Shot there for almost a whole day and maybe came across 3 civilians.
End of the Elizabeth Line but would recommend your own transport.
