London based screening for Short Film

Hey Shooters

Not sure if anyone can help. I'm a filmmaker based in East London. We recently finished a 27 minute no-budget martial arts short. I would love to have a screening for cast and crew, along with anyone else who helped us and supported us along the way. Been having trouble finding venues like that without spending money.

While I have no problem with spending money on this, it doesn't seem right to spend more than the budget we had for the film on the screening :P Been trying pubs and places like that but it's proven tricky. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the Hen and Chickens Theatre bar, near Highbury and Islington? I've not hired it, but they're a very friendly crowd there and it's a good small venue with decent projection and sound. The manager of the theatre told me last year they're happy to hire out for cast and crew screenings.
