London Rooftop Location for Music Video

12 years, 2 months ago - George Pursall

I'm going to be directing a music video for the London band Volunteers (http://volunteersmusic.com) and we are looking for a rooftop location in which to shoot.

The video is being entirely self funded by the band, so the budget is very tight. We have, however, set aside £200 to pay for a suitable location.

This will be a simple performance based video which will take no more than a day to film. If anyone either has access to a roof that they could allow us to film on (ideally, but not crucially, London based) or has knowledge/info/tips on somewhere suitable, perhaps somewhere you have filmed before, could you please let me know - it would be very much appreciated!!

A huge thanks in advance!!

I used to work in a building in Shoreditch which has a roof terrace - http://redroofterrace.co.uk/

Give Metro Central Heights a try in Elephant & Castle - we used it for our short film 'AK' and got some great pan-London views. However, I was a resident at the time and I think that helped us swing a cheaper fee.
Or try approaching people you know that are residents of tower blocks - they may have access to concierge keys to the roof.

Good luck!
