Looking for a period cottage (writer's retreat sort of thing) with access to woods and a stream if possible - can offer up to £500 a week depending on size and location of property
Midlands preferred - within 3 hours commute from London is ideal. Looking to rent mid-October for four weeks (consecutively).

For how many weeks? Winter Lets of country cottages are quite common in these parts (Gloucestershire). Rates can be very attractive as the owners just like the security of it being lived in, by someone who has no plans to stay long term (so they make their money on summer rentals).
Def talk to normal residential lettings in places you fancy, see what comes up.
