How do,

I'm a writer-director looking to meet potential producers in the Yorkshire area with a view to striking up a working relationship, and evolve together from micro-budget self financed shorts to applying for funded and increasingly ambitious projects.

I've had some success, with a short playing at London Short Film Festival and recently being a finalist in the Bluecat Screenplay competition with a spec TV comedy.

My background is in documentary and visual effects and I’m actively writing and developing numerous drama and documentary projects, so have things ready to go.

In particular, I work in the historical genre, so lots of costumes, props and locations always need to be sourced, along with crew etc.

I’m inspired to bring little known historical stories to the screen, particularly concerning socio-economic factors, marginalised peoples and spiritual lives. My plan is to self fund some of my little comedy shorts just to gain more practice and experience, saving my more dramatic projects for funding applications, development schemes et al.

I host monthly meetings of York Filmmakers Coalition and run York Screenwriters Guild and am slowly building contacts in the local industry and regional development agencies.
