Hey everyone,
I'm a writer-director based in Exeter and just wondering who else is in the region? I've shot a couple projects and want to work with others on a few I have coming up - my website's at www.deep-cut.co.uk. At the moment I'm particularly interested in finding a good DoP.
Excited to be on here, looking forward to finding others to work with!
All the best,
Garry

Hi Garry,
I'm a writer/director/actor in and from Somerset - nice to meet you. It's good to meet other local filmmakers, they are thin on the ground in the Devon/Somerset area.
A little about me; I'm releasing my web series this week, am currently my first feature and I have just been awarded funding by Exeter Phoenix for my next project.
Here are some bits (the web series not included as is not out until end of the week):

I had a look at your site - your stuff looks great! Would love to see some of it. Are you also on IG where I keep updated on your stuff?
BTW I was also obsessed with Three Men And A Little Lady, particularly loving the unhelpful local who keeps giving directions to where they SHOULDN'T go haha, a stupid joke but as a kid it really got me. Tom Selleck stuck in the sheep haha.
Cheers Garry.

Hey Vicki, great to hear from you!
Congrats on the commission from the Phoenix - I’ll check out your work ASAP! My Instagram handle is @deepcutfilm
Three Men And A Little Lady is brilliant, I was surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did when I was younger! Fiona Shaw is hilarious in it!
Looking forward to looking at your work, my latest short is at www.deep-cut.co.uk/journeying which is part of series I’m shooting to raise funds for a feature I want to make...
Likewise, good to meet other people in the region, it’s encouraging that there’s stuff going on around here.

If you're looking for a great DoP in Bristol then you must speak with Sarah Smither (formerly Edwards). I've suggested her to a few people, they've always been very pleased. https://camerawoman.co.uk/

Thanks Paddy, yes I've been sent her work on Facebook, thanks! There seems to be a few good DPs around Bristol, I'm spoilt for choice at the moment :D

Hi. I'm based in Bristol and co-host the monthly Filmmakers socials where you can meet DOPs. We're on Facebook and meet once a month in the Watershed. There's also a Bristol Twitter Film meeting tomorrow (Tuesday). I've made a few shorts with DIY Films and BFVS (www.vimeo.com/merlingoldman).

Thanks Merlin, I do need to get up to Bristol to network a bit (I'm in Exeter), I can't make tonight but I'll be sure to check out your page - thank you for reaching out!

Hi Garry, I’m an actor based in Exeter. As far as I know SP members and friends gather in the Exeter Picture House one evening a month. Not sure which one post lockdown. As any of the staff in there, they’ll know.
Always good to make contact with local filmmakers so it’s good to ‘meet’ you.

Hey Maureen! Yes I’ve been along to a couple now - maybe see you at the next one? Garry
