INDEXLooking for men to talk about their experience crying for doc on masculinity...
9 years, 3 months ago - jose maria martinelli
We are making a documentary on traditional masculinity and are looking for a selection of men to speak to camera and say whether they cry or not and if so, when and why and if not, why not. Traditional forms of masculinity teaches men not to cry or that showing their emotions is a sign of weakness. We are looking to explore this and hear from both men who do cry and those that don't.
We will be filming in central London one weekday in the next couple of weeks - date to be chosen once we get enough interest and a sense of preferred dates. Filming won't take any longer than 15 minutes. Unfortunately we can't pay as the doc is fully unfunded and is a true labour of love! We hope to host an event in the summer to launch it and it will be available online in English with Spanish subtitles. Please get in touch if you or anyone you know might be interested in participating.
Many thanks!
Jose

Happy to help. I'm from Glasgow but living in London so might be a good one. Do I cry ? For sure. I cried at a comedy gig last night. Teenage Cancer Trust charity event.

Sam Taylor-Johnson (Taylor-Wood at the time) did a powerful series of photographs of famous men crying.
