Looking for Networking events

Hi all

I hope you all have had a great Christmas and New Year.

I'm looking to do more networking this year. Other than the Nexus - Cast & Crew Network and Screen Central meet ups is there any other regular networking nights in the midlands?

The reason i'm asking is because I'm looking to meet a producer that i can collaborate with on a short film project i want to submit to the BFI Network.

Hi David,
Are you a member of any industry organisations like BECTU, Directors UK, PACT, Spotlight etc? That can help. Also Creative England sometimes have regional get togethers. But most Networking takes place in London I'm afraid. I regularly make the expensive train journey up from the South East to attend these events in the Big Smoke. Think of it as an investment, maybe?

To name a few:
Raindance, Shooters/New Shoots, Mosaic Networking, WFTV, BFI and Bafta - these all hold regular meet-ups or Q&A's and screenings.

Hi Shona

i'm not currently a member of any of those organisations but will look into it. I've noticed lately that more and more networking takes place in London. Unfortunately Trips to London for networking aren't possible at the moment. But its looking more and more like thats what i'm gonna have to do.
