looking for sound mixing options in London for feature documentary

11 years, 1 month ago - Tim iloobia

Dear shooting people people,

We are coming to the close of our new feature documentary called The Creeping Garden which is on the subject of slime moulds, and have secured a rather exciting world premiere in Canada at the end of July.

This is all a bit tight but the main thing I need to sort out is a sound mix and wondered if you guys knew any good little studios or sound people in London who may be open to the task.

For previous projects I have gone to post houses like Envy and Prime Focus but although we have a modest budget these are a bit outside our financial reach for this, so Im kind of looking for someone with their own studio, solid monitoring ears and speakers, experience in mixing shorts or features and who likes things a bit unorthodox.

We have an original score by musician Jim O'Rourke so theres some really nice tones and textures to work with and if you want a flavour of the film, here is our new trailer.

really appreciate your time

Thanks

Tim

Shameless self-promotion here but I believe we may run exactly the sort of facility you're looking for - we're a small independent post house, based in north-east London, and we mainly work in independent film. Being not-in-Soho means we can be quite a bit more affordable, and allows us to pick and choose our projects a bit. We have 3 rooms with Protools HD, full 5.1 monitoring and HD video projection, and excellent coffee to boot.

Oh, and we've worked on some pretty serious films too, including a number of award-winning documentaries.

Perhaps you might want to have a look at our website? It's sounddisposition.com. Or just give me a call and we can chat about the film in more detail.

Best,

Roland

PS: SP members get an automatic 20% off our list rate, but for projects we like we'll often go lower :)

Dominic at http://www.wolfstudios.co.uk has been doing sound since 1984. Not too pricey either.
