Hi Priya, if it helps, my studio in Crystal Palace costs about £500 per month per work station to run at cost. This includes rent of the space, utility bills, and a full suite of 3D and 2D software, including production and post-production. It doesn't reflect the capital costs of hardware. Depending on the style of animation you choose, your main concern is likely to be computer rendering power and software licences.

Are you wanting to hire a facility and do your own work, or hire a studio that will work to your brief?

Claymation, legomation etc only require small sets and limited resources, frankly you can make a bedroom studio far cheaper than renting one will be.
If you want to commission a film, it will not be cheap.

Anything from tens of thousands to millions depending on the project.
That's like asking 'I want to make a movie, anyone know how much it'll cost?' :)
A good starting point would be saying what kind of animation work you need and how long the animation needs to be.

I am a freelance animator working in various mediums and it would be interesting to hear more details about your project. It depends on the type of animation work primarily - and what kind of duration of animation you need.
For example i was able to produce a 3 and a half minute animation from my own small studio in north London over 6 weeks for Virgin airlines - and this could have easily been a job taken to a larger number of animators to achieve in half the time - but that would have ballooned the cost. I offered the client a far more cost effective option but with the same high level of professionalism and delivery.
So if you want a realistic idea of how much a studio will cost (and if there is another option), perhaps look at it this way:
what is the specific nature of the animation medium you will work in?
what will the duration of the animation be?
what kind of budget do you have for the animation?
what is its end deliverable format going to be?
pop me an email if you want to talk through anything… and all the best
