INDEXLooking for West London Producers
2 years, 9 months ago - Samantha Locock
Hello all,
I'm looking for an (ideally West London-based) producer, I have several short scripts that I'd love to get off the ground this year! My recent short screened at the BIFA qualifying Wimbledon Shorts Festival and I'm itching to make something new. I have scripts that range from 3 to 20 pages and I can contribute some money to the budget. I'm looking for a producer that I can build a lasting professional relationship with.
Please feel free to email me at samanthalocock@gmail.com if you'd like to know more or go for a coffee to discuss projects.
Thanks!

It's becoming increasingly difficult for directors to find really good producers to form partnerships with, especially at the start of our careers. I've been down this road myself and so have my film-maker friends. It seems everyone starts out wanting to direct and then circumstances push some of us into producing roles later on. Right now, you will probably meet a number of not very competent producers who just want to exploit you. So, just in case it doesn't work out I suggest that you become your own producer and find a production manager or experienced AD to work alongside you. I can tell you from experience that it's incredibly tough to produce and direct, but it will empower you until you get your career to the point where you're able to employ or team up with a highly skilled and knowledgeable producer.
