Midjourney creating film poster

2 years, 3 months ago - Elie de Rosen

Hi everyone. I'm trying to create a film poster on Midjourney. If you have any experience in that arena, I'd be interested to know more about the prompts you used to reach your goals. I'm having difficulty getting the desired results.

I could probably help on stable diffusion if you are willing to try that instead.

Hi Stefanos. Any help you could give would you be welcome. I'm not deadset on using Midjourney.

Ok Elie so first off stable diffusion is best run on your local machine.

There are some online versions including run by the guys that made the models but for the most control you want to run locally, but there is a snag to locally it requires fairly decent modern hardware. On a PC it requires an nvidia graphics card with 4 gb of ram and on a mac I believe it needs a M1 or later machine.

Here is a couple of links for on and offline.

So this is stablediffusion online https://stablediffusionweb.com/

and this is probably the best frontend and easy installer for offline.

https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui/

and just cos, this is my app that allows specially formatted shotlists to make images that might be ok for storyboards. https://github.com/StephanosPSteer/Aubrushli_images

and while I am here as you are a screenwriter I have just updated Aubrushli2 https://github.com/StephanosPSteer/Aubrushli2 so that it can take final draft or fountain style format screenplays and create shot lists for all scenes (which can then be used with Aubrushli images)

Anyway enough of my self promotion :)

decide if you need on or offline and we can go from there

Hi Elle,
It's a bit of a skill in itself, trying to tame Midjourney, but the results can clearly be amazing. By coincidence, this week I am paying a guy who has started work as a "AI prompt engineer" (among other things he gets into such as AR, non-linear game design, etc) to produce 40-50 images in a very specific style with a very specific theme that I can use for a marketing campaign. He's worked for me before so I know he's nice, bright, and a good worker and this is a new venture for him. If you like, I can introduce you. He's at the stage where he's willing to charge a low rate to get established!

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to spend a little more time on Midjourney learning how the platform works and how to get results. If I don't seem to be getting anywhere, I'll let you know. I'm sure I could benefit from your friend's proficiency.
