Name actors day rates?

Hi guys,

There seem to be some info on the web regarding US rates but not in the UK, sure I can do a conversion but I 'd something more accurate.

Can any one lend any experience to how much certain names in the business want on a per day basis. I'm looking for names of the past and or current TV of film actors in the UK.

How about big film name actors of the past but who are no longer in the lime light.

Casting agencies are wanting script first and then an offer... Before I send feature film scripts out I want to be sure of offering the right amount and at this stage I want to be sure if it's even worth considering hiring names for this venture.
Thanks!

James, I had the same question, and just got these documents from a casting director. I have made them available online, please feel free to grab them. http://disintegrate.us/assets/equity-rates/ - and it is best to get them from EQUITY

James - go to Equity and start there.

The answer is 'by negotiation'. A friend had one of the leads from an Oscar nominated movie and a big 80's TV comedy face who agreed to do a weekend for well under equity on the condition that all the cast earned the same. Respect to him for that.

The casting director should also be guiding you to the right kind of offers to make

Try talking to equity, who are the actors union, because their minimum pay all depends on how big the budget is, but lots of names actors, if they likes script, will consider working for less - but it'll need to at least be an equity contract

I suspect that'll be so commercially sensitive, you'll have better luck getting the price Gillette pay for the steel in a razor than be able to find accurate information.

Remember, it's not *just* a cash transaction, but a whole contract with back-end, rights, obligations, promotional activities, image rights, merch rights, sequel rights and obligations, provision of Winnebago, hotels, drivers, etc., - not just a straight hourly/day rate.

Thanks for these Bruce, been looking in to pact and equity as a place to start. Is there any one out there who can lend some figures of past a/b lister actors/actress based on a day rate?
