INDEXNeed a Bathroom location - better to build a set or find a location ?

Hi there, I'm looking for a Bathroom location that is spacious enough to able to shoot a HD film with dolly. Is it best to build a set or find a location? I'm guessing that building a bathroom set would be expensive - any idea on costs? And can Set Designers/Builders help give me advice please? Thank you

What does the bathroom look like? The only ones big enough to have a dolly in would be those in stately homes and old asylums, which doesn't help if it's supposed to be a 3 bed semi...
I think you'll end up needing to build, or hire an existing studio one.

The whole reasoning of building a set was so I could place the camera behind the mirror and have mirror POV shot. Is this achievable on a normal sized bathroom without breaking down the wall ?

Sets - maybe a few grand, but you get exactly what you want, you can remove walls, you can light from above, you can get clear audio. You may even be able to cut some costs - you need carpenters, bunch of wood, and paint, biggest cost is labour, so all around. If, for instance you only need 2 walls, that's a cheaper build than 4 :)
If you can afford a set in a studio, you'll probably halve the shooting time you need, so save on crew, food, parking, etc. It's a balancing act :)

GoPro and blu-tak? They make so many hard-to-do shots much easier
