... where I can film uninterupted for around 3 hours. Just me, a DSLR and an actress. Any ideas? Thanks

A sudden flurry of great responses, thanks very much.
I've been working my way through these suggestions over the past few hours. None of these quite hit the mark due to either practical or logistical reasons. One of the main problems is sound. Due to the nature of this particular project that would be an issue. The other issue is cost in relation to a couple of the suggestions.
But thanks all the same. Was good to go through them, and please keep your suggestions coming if there are any more, as I'm still looking!

Try Unicornkiosks.com they restore phone boxes for councils and private collectors they may know of one in a good location for you.

There's a few in Uxbridge, just outside the tube station. You might be able to get some relatively undisturbed shooting done there on a Sunday morning if you're using a skeleton crew.

and it was one of the very few that didn't smell like a urinal. Lucky me,

Thanks Leiah.
I've been going round places and looking but not had a great deal of luck. Thanks for the tip. I'll check that out too.

Go to Westminster they're all over the place however for 3 hours of filming you will be interumpted by loads of tourists who love to take pictures by them unless you get there very very early. Like sunsrise early

You might find that a fruitless search. BT have been removing phone boxes by the thousand for years. They just don't pay these days, because, mobiles.
Here's a video made by someone who had the same problem

Do it well and maybe Ebay it afterwards to get your money back.

Hi Kyri, I believe most of the red telephone boxes are now owned by the Red Kisok company, managed by a really lovely fellow called Edward http://www.redkioskcompany.com/

Hey Kyri,
Not sure if you're still looking for the telephone box but I just spotted one on Agar Grove (5-10 minutes from Camden Road station)! It is by a main road but not a particularly busy one since it's by a residential area. Might be worth checking out if you're still looking, not sure about the street number but it's near somewhere between 75-85?

Smithfields Market near Farringdon have several, but you need to apply for permission to shoot within the market space.

Hey Kyri,
There's one about 20 metres up the road from The Royal Courts of Justice. Its at the base of an alley way and people film things there regularly. Sound might be an issue as you're on fleet street but that area goes completely dead at the weekends, so that'd be your fix.
Hope you find a spot

I shot a short film in a phone box on Whitechapel (I know, not north London) and I had no interruptions at all. Shot a 9 hr day there. It's directly across from the WhiteChapel tube station on White Chapel on the corner. Pub across the street was my holding and processing for talent (upstairs). We ate lunch there too. There peace sign we painted on the phone box is still there! location Permit was no charge through Tower Hamlets. Here's the film https://vimeo.com/92116308

There's also one next the The Geffrye Museum, Shoreditch.
Jake Bugg shot a video there...but you might be interrupted by Bearded, Tattooed Hipsters

In fact, I think what I need is something like this, but closer to London:

Anyone seen or know of a phone box like this near fields or countryside, as close to north London as possible?
It would mean I wouldn't have sound interference from passing traffic and inquisitive distractions from passers by! It would also give the film a nice aesthetic.

Hi Kyri
There used to be one poking up across the high wall of house along the road at Hampron Court which obviously is in someones back garden so no knowing what its used for now- graden shed/ aquarium? bar-b -q storage?
Otherwise...
My thought is why not use the one that Lucy references in Frensham and fim it with a portable greenscreen outside that you can overlay later with london traffic scenes etc. If someone needs to use the phone, they can and you can continue filming once they're gone with no worry of loss of film continuity.
