It's a maturing market - but not mature yet - so it'll be different in 5 years when a winner emerges. Celtx at least has the advantage of many years behind it, although Studiobinder seem to be adding features quite rapidly (although I found a few small bugs when I tried it, so I'm not sure it's primetime yet)

Thanks - also Studiobinder is way more expensive if you need the breakdown/scheduling features (and frankly, why else would you use a program like this). I'm imminently starting a feature, so I guess Celtx would be the best way to go.

I do think their pricing model is pretty screwy considering the fact this is the time to fight for market share, true. I did try and raise this point with them, suggesting they need a "one feature film" PAYG pricing instead of monthly for instance - even if just because of how it'll be paid for!

I like using Final Draft - Tagger - Movie Magic because they all chain together. Not yet explored Scenechronize though.

Hi Franz. Thanks for your email. I would go with Movie Magic but it's soooo expensive, especially for a one-off job like this that'll be done in 3 months...

That's funny, and the feeling I get when using their software (at least Final Draft, which has become awful). So I guess my best bet (on a budget) is Celtx.
