Pitch Materials?

10 years, 4 months ago - Paul Drew

Hey all,

I couldn't quite find this query elsewhere, so I ask forgiveness if there's a great answer I've missed previously.

I'm working on a TV Pilot at the moment, it's pretty low budget but we've wrangled a lot of good stuff for free to make up for it. So overall we're making something that should look pretty pro, with a script that's had decent feedback and good cast, etc.

Now through some fortunate abuse of contacts, I've managed to get an opportunity to essentially pitch the concept to a TV producer. Whilst I'm fairly confident on my pitching ability, what to say and how to present - the one thing I've seen bandied about is the concept of investor/production packs. The kind of folder that you'd give to productions companies and the like during your pitch, so that they van review for later.

Although I've got an idea of some of the content to put in here (the usual logline, synopsis, treatment) I'm wondering if anyone has advice on what else and how this should be presented?

Is a simple binder with 'stuff' in there enough, or should I look at hawking an internal organ to get a professional presentation pack made? And if so, ideas for what will actually be useful as opposed to the kind of fluff producers hate (petty bribes 'cunningly' disguised as marketing material).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
