INDEXPop-Up 3D Cinema

Hi, after months of searching I could not find anyone who's set up a 3D cinema. So I decided to look into it....
I've recently made a 3D feature film (Halloween Jack 3D) which I'm self distributing. I wanted to tour my film in cinemas but the costs involved ESPECIALLY for 3D capabilities was eye watering, one screening would cost much more than my films budget!
To cut a long story short I researched how to screen my own film in Real 3D, bought all the equipment I needed like the special 3D glasses, 3D projector and all the audio equipment....
We recently had the cast & crew screening, they were my guinea pigs as I had no idea if the 3D would work or not with all the 3D glasses connecting to the projector properly...
I'm happy to say it was a success and it was great fun!
The biggest kick for me, sitting in the back row watching the reactions, was the audience reaching their arms out trying to touch what is in front of them, the 3D worked!
If anyone is in the Medway, Kent area and would like to come along to one of the 3D screenings you can so here: www.ticketsource.co.uk/halloweenjack3d
There should be more dates added going to Margate and others...
Also, the Pre-Orders for the 2-disc bluray start today. The film is released 30th September: https://www.livestreamtheatre.com/halloween-jack-3d
I thought hearing something about a self-distributed micro-budget 3D horror with a pop-up 3D cinema might be of some interest to a few.
All the best :)
Phil

Excellent Phil.
I was really interested in your story.
Many years ago (2008) I made a 3D (Anaglyph green/red glasses) type format music promo see here:

It's great to see you can now make 3D films using the Real 3D format. I'm going to try and make it to one of your showings, as I think it's an underrated way to present films, my favourites being... Gravity, Madmax Thunder Road and Beowulf.
Can I ask which rigs and cameras did you use ?

Hey Robert, I really like your 3D music video, the 3D works very well.
Let me know which of the screenings you may attend so we can have a chat afterwards:

Yes I do love 3D films, the one's you mentioned are great. I recently watched THE WALK in 3D, the Robert Zemekis film, which gave me very sweaty hands when he was doing the wire walk between the the two World Trade Center buildings!
I used a Sony TD10 3D camera, amazing little 3D camera.
What did you use for your 3D music video?
I look forward to catching up at some point soon.

Hey Tony, thanks very much. The pop up 3D cinema has intrigued people to pre-book tickets, let's just hope it continues, but I have no idea how successful it will be.
I will try to call you later today (Friday).
All the best and speak soon.
