Post-production is finished; Now What? How to promote a short film

Hello SP !
After some hiccoughs our short film is finally finished. But how to promote it ?
How to do you know which film festivals are worth entering? How do you get publications to help you with the PR?
Does anyone have any insight that could help as I feel like I know more about the how to make a film rather than the What to do with it next?

Reading your post reminded me that, some years back, I had bookmarked some kind of short film promotion advice page. Scanning through my hundreds of bookmarked pages, to my surprise I found it.

It's from 2018. I didn't read it today and I'm not sure if I even read it back then, but you might want to take a look at it as, I noticed when I scrolled down its pages just now, it does seem to talk about short film promotion a lot, and maybe the info is still relevant.

Thanks Alwyne. I also found this v.helpful, a lot is very relevant.
I like a lot how they discuss the age ole qn of festivals vs online too.
