Producers with East Anglia connections?

7 years ago - Julie Mayhew

Hi,
I’m a writer/director and one of BFI Network x BAFTA Crew’s 150 above-the-line mentees for 2018.
I’m working towards a short and a feature filming around Peterborough, my hometown, and am keen to connect with a producer, preferably someone with a connection or understanding of resources/funding for filming in East Anglia.
Both of these projects are comedy drama dealing with big or meaningful subjects.
I’d love to hear from producers direct, or other filmmakers with recommendations - and also experienced crew working in the Peterborough area, as we begin to build a team.
There’s more about me here www.juliemayhew.co.uk
Thanks in advance, Julie

Hello Julie,

If you’re looking for people to collaborate with, the most effective way of reaching other members is to list your project in the Production part of the site. You can do this by clicking on the navigation ‘Production’ > ‘Get People’ (https://shootingpeople.org/production/people).

Once you’ve completed your post, the project will be available to view on the site in the Production directory and will be published in the bulletins.

Good luck with it.
Helen

Thanks, Helen. I did look at doing that but I'm such an early stage I couldn't answer any of the questions on the proforma (budget, pay, dates, etc). I want to build a relationship with a producer and get the project off and running together. Could I have left spaces blank and submitted it?

Hi Julie,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, you can leave certain sections blank. As long as you explain your situation in the post under 'About the Role' (along with a description of the role itself, what's involved, what experience you're looking for etc).

All the best,
Helen
