Prop design advice

I'm shooting a teaser trailer for an upcoming short and have a prop required that's quite simple in design so I'm wondering if anyone can help - I can't attach images unfortunately so have provided links - I'm trying to create a convincing virtual reality machine prop and a Black Mirror episode created a convincing and really simple one, does anyone know of any cheap props similar this? (It doesn't have to attach to the chair, I'd just like the band and will add in a visual effect)

To replicate something like that (well, actually to improve on it) I'd modify a cheap set of plastic headphones (like the Sennheiser HD201's) and possibly add some simple LED lighting inside the band to sell the idea (be mindful of your actor's eyes - nothing too bright). Ribbon cables are cheap and look pretty sci-fi for extra effect.
