Hello,
I would be interested. I trained and worked (starting to work) as an actor, producer and writer in a handful of production and woud like to be more involved in teh Queer Film making community. A regular meeting group would be fab.

This is a great idea and as a queer director & filmmaker, have been looking for a networking group since attending BFi Flare earlier in the year.

I have another LGBT+ short film project ("And Then There Was Him" in the Script Pitch section) that I'm trying to get off the ground to start filming next year, so this would be a great way to collab with more LGBT+ filmmakers.

Thank you so much for all the positive responses on/off this thread so far!

Looks like there's definitely enough interest for this to go ahead. I'll be looking into venues next - aiming for an initial meet-up in December. (It would be a nice thing to do before the end of the year!). Hope this works for most but if not, I plan to keep this going fairly regularly.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know that although I had a venue in mind for December, they were not very flexible in the lead up to Christmas (understandably!). I've decided to postpone the first meeting to next year when I can give you all a little more notice. (Also doesn't help that I've just managed to catch Covid so apologies to all for my delay in responding to individual emails).

I'll be aiming for Mid-January, which should be a lovely way to kick start the year.
Please do keep sending me your contact details through to keyleen@newlerfilms.com and feel free to rope in some more LGBTQIA+ filmmakers in the meantime.

Have written, produced or directed a short film which has screened at a BAFTA-qualifying festival within the last 3 years or has screened at a number of international LGBTQIA+ film festivals.
Or, for writers only: have one piece of full-length theatre work performed professionally in the UK or one radio credit
Be working towards a debut feature length project or television pilot/online commission
Be a UK resident
